Bavarian State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology Franz Josef Pschierer has awarded the Bavarian Energy Prize (“Bayerischer Energiepreis”) to Clariant Produkte (Deutschland) GmbH in Nuremberg on 20th October 2016 for its innovative sunliquid® technology for the production of climate-friendly and sustainable cellulosic ethanol from agricultural residues. Clariant’s sunliquid® is a highly efficient solution for the production of biofuel and biochemicals and stands for a successful technology “made in Bavaria”.
The Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology has awarded the Bavarian Energy Prize for the 10th time. Outstanding innovative achievements in the field of efficient energy production and use are selected every two years. Companies and research institutions showed a very strong interest in this year’s award with a record high of 276 applications. In addition to the first place won by Clariant, the ministry has awarded prizes in 8 different categories.
