At the 4th International Conference on Lignocellulosic Ethanol from September 23 -25, 2014 in Landshut, Germany, more than 150 international experts from the lignocellulosic production industry and research institutes came together in order to share their expertise and experience. The conference was hosted by the Directorate General for Energy of the European Commission and facilitated by Clariant as one of the congress’ sponsors.

Renowned speakers discussed the current status of topics such as the commercial reality of lignocellulosic ethanol, recent policy developments, R&D and market needs to deploy the technology or latest technological developments. Clariant presented its innovative sunliquid® technology as a lignocellulosic conversion platform for fuels and chemicals. Highlight was the visit of Clariant’s cellulosic ethanol demonstration plant in Straubing for the congress participants.
